Call of Duty’s Sky-High Launch – Sydney Style

In 2024, Airvision was contacted to handle the launch of the latest Call of Duty in a way only we can—sky-high and unforgettable.

The operation was straightforward for our experienced team: a 1,500 square metre banner, meticulously produced with Airvision’s new full digital printing technology, ensuring perfect colour matching. What used to take 6–8 weeks to produce a banner now takes just three.

The result? Rapid production and flawless execution.

The helicopter took off from a private property on Sydney’s northern beaches, with a track flying over Pittwater, down the coast to the harbour, and showcasing the banner to beachgoers and crowds.

We set the banner speed higher than usual—45 knots, or around 80 km/h—to maximise coverage. With a banner of this size, visibility isn’t an issue; it can be seen from over 10 km away. Our philosophy is simple: be seen, make an impact, then move on. No hovering or blocking beach views—just an eye-catching fly-by to grab attention.

After 30 years of these operations—including training pilots in over 20 countries—we’ve refined a simple, safe, and controllable system for launching and recovering these massive banners.

The client was ecstatic with the result, already looking forward to their next campaign using the world’s largest mobile billboards. That’s the beauty of this form of advertising: mobile, massive, and unmissable.

It’s been over three decades since I invented this system, and I never get tired of seeing these giants soar.
