The Seahawks “12” Over Sydney
Airvision Aviation was commissioned to fly the Seattle Seahawks iconic “12” flag across Sydney Harbour. The number 12 is a retired jersey number that represents the Seahawks’ fans, recognising them as the team’s symbolic 12th player. The banner flew past the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, before continuing along the coastline over Bondi and Manly Beach, capturing the club’s most recognisable symbol against Australia’s most iconic landmarks.

Australian Idol Launch Takes Flight Over Sydney Coastline
Today we flew a 500 sqm helicopter-towed banner promoting the launch of Australian Idol, marking the return of the series ahead of its premiere on Monday 2 February. Departing from Malabar, the banner completed multiple coastal loops, tracking north past Coogee, Tamarama, Bondi, Vaucluse, and Manly, delivering sustained visibility across some of Sydney’s most populated and iconic beachfront locations. The activation leveraged clear coastal sightlines and high weekend foot tra

Spotify Wrapped Takes to the Skies
On 4 December 2025, a large-scale helicopter-towed banner was flown along Sydney’s coastline to promote Spotify Wrapped, the platform’s annual global moment that reveals users’ most-played artists, songs, albums, genres, and listening habits from the past year. Spotify Wrapped has become a cultural event in its own right, driving massive social sharing as millions of users post their personalised results across Instagram, TikTok, and X, turning individual listening data into

Aerial Activation for Stan’s Sunny Nights
On 13 December 2025, a 500 sqm helicopter-towed banner ran the Sydney coastline from Malabar to Palm Beach, with a focus on Bondi Beach, to support the launch campaign for Sunny Nights on Stan, timed to coincide with Stan’s on-the-ground activations. Sunny Nights follows siblings Martin and Vicki Marvin, an American brother sister duo who relocate to Sydney to start a spray tan business, only to find themselves tangled up with the wrong people as things spiral fast.

The Flying Pepsi Can
In 2004 Pepsi was presented by Airvision with a world first aerial creation, a flying ram air inflatable Pepsi can. After more than a year of design, fabrication and testing, the first flight didn’t go as planned. Once the can inflated, the helicopter couldn’t move forward. Without larger baffles at the rear, the can behaved like a giant windsock, catching the air sideways and dragging heavily. The pilot radioed that he could barely make eight knots. The fix came through tria

FOXTEL GOES DIGITAL: THE BIGGEST BANNER LAUNCH IN HISTORY
In 2004, I was called into the Foxtel offices by Mr Brian Walsh, a true gentleman I had known for years. What followed was a meeting that would lead to the biggest contract in history for helicopter banner flights. Brian explained his vision: a massive seven cities, seven days pre launch countdown to mark Foxtel going digital. They had been impressed with many of our previous aerial displays and helicopter channel activations and decided to commission what remains, to this da

Fury Road & My Wild Ride: Ballistic
Back in 2010, I got a call out of the blue from the producers of Mad Max: Fury Road. They weren’t chasing me personally—they were after a machine I happened to own. A strange, feral, one-off off-road buggy known as Ballistic. This thing wasn’t your average backyard build. Ballistic was a turbo-charged, feather-light tandem racer with insane long-travel suspension and a setup that looked like it had escaped from the future. Each corner ran dual motorcycle wheels, giving it rid

Seven banners. Seven helicopters. One race. One record.
In 2001, we pulled off something that had never been done before — flying seven helicopter banners during the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. Seven clients meant seven helicopters, seven pilots, seven ground crews, seven rigging systems, and the transport of a mountain of banners and equipment to the take-off site. The area could only handle two banner launches at a time, so we built a military-style operation to keep everything moving — launches, landings, refuelling, and pack

Batman Heli Banner Stunt
After an extensive flight campaign around Sydney, Melbourne, and the Gold Coast promoting the release of Batman with a helicopter banner, we were asked if there was anything else we could do with it for the State of Origin halftime show at Olympic Park. Our answer? Absolutely. We designed a giant “coat hanger” frame made from aluminium bars and connectors, with six connection points leading to a central attachment point. This allowed us to suspend the banner perfectly. T

Our First Middle East Skyshow
Back in 2000, we received a call from our now long-time business partner in Egypt. He had secured an aerial skyshow contract in Kuwait as part of the annual HALA Festival, a cultural celebration honouring those lost in war and showcasing the spirit of Kuwait through art, music and spectacle. The Challenges There were plenty. Sourcing and preparing 12 MPG units was a logistical undertaking in itself. This was followed by coordinating international freight, securing visas, sche
